'Death of a former resident.'
Word reached this city last evening announcing the death of Mrs. Michael Andes of 116 South River Street, Wilkes-Barre yesterday morning at the advanced age of 73 years. Mrs. Andes was born in Germany, and 27 years ago was a resident of this city, and was a sister of the late Mrs. Caroline Maue, Mrs Henderschiedt and Mrs. Geo Krapf and mother of Jacob Andes of this city. She was well known in this section and the announcement of her death will be sad news to her many friends and relatives. She leaves nine children, five boys and four girls to mourn her loss. Her funeral will take place on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be made in the Hollenback Cemetary, Wilkes-Barre.

The funeral of Mrs. Andes, whose death occurred Sunday morning last, took place this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. F. K. Levan gave the address in English, while Rev. M. Kuehn officiated and spoke touchingly to the German friends and relatives present in their own language. Interment was made in the Hollenback cemetery, the following being the pallbearers: Henry Nagle, Philip Hilgert, Jacob Heck, Mr. Hartman, Mr. Naster and Mr. Derr.
