Wm. V. Cales Dies Suddenly
William Valentine Cales, 65, resident of Centralia since 1918, died suddenly Monday night at the family home, 726 H street. Born February 14, 1883, in Cercoxie, Mo., he came to Bucoda at the age of five and resided there until moving to Centralia.
Mr. Cales, a retired barber, was a member of the Centralia IOOF and Rebekah Lodges, the local aerie of Eagles and Barbers' local No. 359. Surviving are his wife, Lucretia; four daughters, Mrs. Neola Wilburn, Orting; Mrs. Lola Titus, Tacoma, and Mrs. Eva Lewis and Mrs. Lorraine Chowning, Centralia; stepdaughter, Mrs. Ila Gourde, Centralia; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Johnson, Tacoma, and Mrs. Susie Marvin, Centralia, and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p. m. at the Pontious-Cattermole chapel. The Rev. R. A. Anderson will officiate and burial will be at Mountain View.
