Frances Marie (Pearson) Balko, born on July 28, 1925 in Glen Flora, Wisconsin passed away peacefully at 82, on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at her home in Des Moines, Washington. Frances will be missed for her loving and thoughtful nature, her supportive and attentive spirit, and her rich prayer life. She was a wonderful mother and was parenting until the end. She was passionate about her faith, her family, reading, and political affairs. Many people were recipients of her handmade cards and creative projects. She had a playful sense of humor, was non-judgmental, and an example for all. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her. Preceded in death by husband, Verlie A. Balko; daughter Sue R. Balko; sister Ivy Grunseth; brother Phil Pearson. Survived by sons Max O. Balko (Judy), Sam J. Balko (Beth); daughters Mitzie J. Ollila, Cynthia Lea Balko, Shelby J. Barrentine (Carl), Lorry K. Fordham (Kevin), Beverly A. Hamilton (Dan), Becky J. Marchitto (Ron); brothers Floyd Pearson, Fred Pearson, Dale Pearson; sisters Gladys Lieffering, Joyce Flesch; 19 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers please make a memorial gift to her home church, Light of Christ Lutheran Church (Federal Way, WA), or the American Red Cross. Services will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 515 S. 312th Federal Way, WA 98003; viewing 10 AM; service 11:00 AM; reception 12:00; burial immediately following reception at Mountain View Cemetery, 2020 Mt. View Dr., Auburn, WA 98001
