Priscilla Jeanette Frizzell, age 83, died on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, TN following a long illness. Born on July 8, 1926 in Honolulu, Hawaii, Mrs. Frizzell married Dewey L. Frizzell, (USN Retired) on January 3, 1944 in Lima, Peru. After marriage in Lima, she moved to San Francisco and was a Spanish interpreter for AT&T while Dewey was stationed in the Aleutian Islands. Throughout her younger life they moved from port to port every two years including Brooklyn Naval Yard, Corpus Christi, Miami, San Diego, and Yokohama, Japan before coming to Millington. After her husband's retirement from the United States Navy, she settled in Adamsville where she became involved with Adamsville Elementary School serving as the PTA President. She played an integral part as President by helping form the school's first yearbook. She continued to help on the high school level by raising money for events such as spaghetti dinners, yard sales, raffles, etc. She was a member of Adamsville First United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Her hobbies were knitting and gardening.
Mrs. Frizzell leaves behind a daughter, Alice Franceschetti and her husband Don of Memphis; a son, Edward P. Frizzell of Adamsville; three grandsons, James M. Hamlett, IV of Seattle, WA, Charles D. Hamlett and Carson G. Hamlett, both of Memphis; two great-grandsons, Charles and William Hamlett of Memphis.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dewey L. Frizzell on August 8, 1980. Her parents were the late Edward R. and Lucy G. Munoz Scott.
