Laurie Anders
Birth: Jan. 16, 1922
Natrona County
Wyoming, USA
Death: Oct. 3, 1992
Los Angeles County
California, USA

Entertainer. Born Lorayne Day in Casper, Wyoming. A voluptuous blonde starlet, she enjoyed brief fame as a crooning cowgirl on CBS TV's "The Ken Murray Show" from 1950 to 1953. Her hit theme song, "I Love the Wide Open Spaces" (with the emphasis on "Wide"), became a popular catch phrase of the era. Anders brought this character to the big screen as the star of "The Marshal's Daughter" (1953), which Time magazine called "undoubtedly one of the worst westerns ever made"; today it is considered something of a camp classic. Once the novelty of her act wore off Anders found Hollywood jobs scarce and she withdrew from show business in the late 1950s. She was last seen in a 1960 episode of "This Is Your Life" honoring Ken Murray, who was responsible for her fleeting success. (bio by: Bobb Edwards)

Your headstone photo is on your husbands memorial. FG is blocking all abilities to add your headstone. Sorry, I tried.
