Malmady Memorial
Birth: unknown
Death: Dec. 17, 1944

On December 17,1944 84 American Soldiers were led into a field in Malmady, Belgium and murdered by German troops. Along with these soldiers were many
civilians. This still stands as one of the most despicable acts of World War II. The !st SS Panzer division and their commander Kampfgruppe Peiper were directly responsible.
When the soldiers were found nearly a month later autopsies found that at least 20 men received gunshot wounds to the head at very close range.
At the end of the war Nazi's captured stood trial and many were given received death by hanging, including Peiper. The worst of this story was that Peiper's sentence was commuted and he only served 10 years for his part in the murders.
Rest in Peace Men. You will always be remembered and and prayed for.
