Laura C. Worley was the 4th of 6 children of Francis Charles Worley(1853-1929) and Martha Elizabeth McKee(1857-?). Laura had a twin sister-Lola E. Worley ( E. P. Heidtman).

Laura married Ernest Keese Young 12-29-1910. Ernest and Laura owned and operated a small neigborhood grocery store. Ernest died from influenza in 1918 leaving Laura with 6 children to raise with the youngest being only 6 months old.

On 5-28-1927 Laura married her second husband Charles H. "Buster" Jones who was a stock boy in her grocery store. Buster was 21 years younger than Laura-so he was 11 years older than Laura's youngest child and only 4 years older than her oldest child.

Buster and Laura stayed married for 39 years until Laura died in 1966. Buster only lived three more years after Laura passed away.

Obituary:

Mrs. Laura Worley Young Jones, 80, wife of Buster Jones, died at a local nursing home at 8:20 p.m. yesterday following several years of declining health.

She was a native of Sevier, VA, a daughter of the late Francis C. and Martha Elizabeth McKee Worley, and had spent most of her life in the city.

She was a member of St. Mark Methodist Church and the Swindell Bible Class.

Mrs. Jones was twice married. Her first husband was the late Ernest Keese Young, from which union the following children survive, Mrs. J. C. Lynn (Maude) of Falls Church, VA, and Mrs. Hiott League (Louise), Mrs. J. Furman Neal (Martha), Mrs. D.C. Spearman (Mary) and Ernest Young, Jr. of Greenville.

A sister, Mrs. E. P. Heidtman (Lola) of Charleston; a brother, M. J. Worley of Hendersonville, NC; two half sisters, Mrs. W.C. Young (Anne Belle) and Mrs. Elizabeth W. Miller of Greenville; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at St Mark Methodist Church Saturday at 2 p.m. by The Rev. Albert S. Harvey and Rev. R.W. Sammeth. Burial will be in Salem Methodist Church cemetery.

Pallbearers: David Spearman, Charles Spearman, Jimmy Neal, Ronald James, Lee Kennerly and Charles Davis.

The body is at the Mackey Mortuary, but will be at the home, 216 Stewart St. after 6:30 p.m. today
