Nathan Abbott, Jr. (PROVEN) birth/death unknown at present, who was cited many times in the town records of Stockbridge. Nathan married Sophia Gilbert in Stockbridge, Windsor, Vermont on 12 July, 1801.
Nathan served the town of Stockbridge during various times in his life as Grand Juryman and as the head surveyor of 'The Narrows,' which is the original name for what is now Gaysville, Windsor, Vermont.
Eldest son Daniel is the more 'known' head of the family line in Stockbridge and was very prominent and active in the town, as was Nathan; farmlands that he owned alongside his father and likely parcelled out to his sons and other descendants directly abut the cemetery. An 1869 Map of Stockbridge shows the locations of his sons' residences on this land. The land overlooks the White River, and is still being farmed today.
