Kathleen was born in Los Angeles to Samuel and Evelyn Auld. She grew up in Southern California, obtaining her undergraduate degree from the University of California,Irvine. She earned her medical degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in 1987. She interned at Pacific Hospital of Long Beach before completing both a Pediatric and Neurology fellowship at Loma Linda University. She was a very committed physician, always keeping the patient at the center of her care. At the time of her death she was a neurologist for the Neurodevelopmental and Neurodiagnostic Center in Reno, NV.
While at Loma Linda University she participated in pioneering research in the area of evaluating brain death using MRI spectroscopy. This research was published in a peer-reviewed journal of neurology.
She is remembered by her close friends as a thoughtful and loving individual. She loved to experience life to its fullest, even if risk was involved.
