He was born Sept. 22, 1922, in Elba, the son of Earsul and Esther Beam Twitchell.
He served in the United States Army during World War II in the Persian Gulf Command.
He attended the Southern Idaho College of Education in Albion and Eastern Oregon College of Education in LaGrande.
Chuck married Anita Hubbard on Sept. 6, 1946, in Rupert. He was the owner of Chuck's In and Out in Rupert. He was a salesman for many years and in 1972 he retired and moved back to Elba and operated an evergreen plantation.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Hubbard Twitchell of Elba; a daughter, Sandy Booth of Elba; a son, Tom Twitchell of Richfield, Utah; five brothers, Leo Twitchell of Kingman, Ariz., Orvin Twitchell of Monteview, Neal Twitchell of Idaho Falls, Jean Twitchell of St. Anthony, and Ellis Twitchell of Portola, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, many dear freinds.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Lauree; two brothers George and Francis; and a grandson Scott.
God saw that he was getting tired
and a cure was not to be
So he put His arm around him and whispered,
"Come with me."
With tearful eyes we watched him suffer,
and saw him fade away.
Although we loved him dearly. We could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating. A determined spirit was at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best...
