In Loving Memory of Billie Sharese Matthews

September 3, 1964 – October 14, 2011

On the third day of September 1964 in Compton, Los Angeles, California, a young baby girl was born. Billy Glenn Matthews and Loretha A. Matthews were the proud parents of this lovely creation and named her Billie Sharese.

About the time when Billie Sharese Matthews started talking, she acquired the nickname "Reecee", which was a play on her middle name. The nickname Reecee stuck and she was called that name by friends and family throughout her life.

As a girl, Reecee was an avid swimmer and won many blue ribbons during her competitive years. She loved to have fun and she also loved dancing, especially to her favorite artist Michael Jackson. Reecee's energy and fun loving attitude lasted into her adulthood. She wasn't fond of boredom or allowing others around her to become bored. She was always the entertainer, a motivating person who could cheer you up or just get you moving when you most needed it. If she couldn't do that, she would just cook her way into your heart. She was a person who could find beauty in the simplest of things. And no matter how much she sometimes tried, Reecee couldn't hide the fact that she was a truly loving and compassionate soul.

Billie Sharese attended Elementary and Secondary school in Compton, California and graduated from Compton High School in 1982. While attending Compton High School, she met Boyce E. Hicks and soon after graduating, married him. Boyce E. Hicks and Billie Sharese Hicks produced sons Boyce E. Hicks Jr., Royce G. Hicks, and Malcolm R. Hicks. Later in life, after moving to Texas, she met James Loggins and produced their youngest son Jamel G. Loggins.

She is preceded in death by her beloved mother Loretha.

Those left behind to embrace her memories are her children (mentioned above), her father Billy Glenn Matthews and her companion L. C. Green. She also leaves her brothers: Gregory L. Freeman, Rollin K. Matthews, Melvin Sentel Matthews and Billy Matthews Jr. and her sisters: Youlanda Matthews, Lakeitha Matthews and Keisha Matthews...along with a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
