John Alexander Guiler, aged seventy-four years, died at his home near Summerfield last Thursday evening at 5:30 o'clock, following an illness.
He was a son of the late William and Sarah Souders Guiler, and had lived his entire life in Noble county, where he had engaged in farming. Because of ill health he retired several years ago. Mr. Guiler was noted for his hospitality in his home and as a comprehensive Bible student.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary E. Guiler, and four children. They are Glenn Guiler and Mrs. Mabel Wahrenberger of Cleveland, and Harold and Robley Guiler of the home. There are eight grandchildren and one brother, Sheridan Guiler, of Barnesville.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in Allen's Chapel, on Barnes Ridge, with Rev. A. B. Miller, pastor of the Caldwell Methodist church, officiating. Interment was made in the Allen's Chapel cemetery.
