Grandma Mae was an amazing Woman. Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren have wonderful memories of Mae with her animals, especially her birds and chickens. She had a large garden. She was a compassionate woman who was very kind to animals and all who knew her. Like her son Pat, she had a special gift with animals, especially birds and dogs.. amazingly wonderful gift. Mae taught her pet birds to talk, dogs to do tricks..Mae was outgoing, friendly, interesting and fun to visit. She kept her grand kids busy and happy with all her many pets and interests. Many of us have vivid wonderful memories of Mae...

We loved our visits with Grandma Mae. Mae was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and good friend. She accomplished much in her life. One of her many life successes was raising her wonderful children. Her beloved Daughter Martella passed away at a young age. Her sons were wonderful husbands, dads and grandfathers who spoke very highly of their beloved Mother, Our Grandma Mae. Each of her Son's were as wonderful as their Mom. We were blessed to have all of them in our lives. To know Mae was to love her. Even thinking about fond memories of her writing her bio brings a smile..Mae was an incredible, kind, honest, down to earth, outspoken, caring, loving, warm , giving Wife, Mother, Grandmother. She had a great sense of humor,a warm wonderful smile, and a great hearty laugh. She is remembered fondly. She loved Family visits. She was wonderful and highly respected with her children, their spouses and her many grandchildren. Mae was a strong smart, humble, wonderful spirited woman.

It appears Mae was one of her Son Kelly's biggest boxing fans... If you met Mae once, you would always remember her and have kind thoughts about her. Our Memory of her Sons, with all she taught them about life is the same. They too were compassionate, kind, honest, hard working , brilliant , giving

and share many of their Mothers wonderful attributes. Mae passed away in 1965,

but left us with our cherished memories of her forever. Mae was broken hearted

when two of her children preceded her in death. Mae was heartbroken when her

beloved Spouse Arthur passed away unexpectedly from a car accident.

Arthur was Mae's Spouse from her second Marriage. They were both divorced and initially started dating during the time Art's Son Nimrod Anderson and Mae's Son's Pat Ward , Kelly Ward and Donavin Ward were serving our Country overseas during WWII.

Art's Daughter Audrey remembers when she first met Mae. Kelly Ward first met Art

at Arts home with Audrey and Annie Swanson when Kelly Ward was on Military

home visit leave via the Merchant Marines during WWII.

Art remained a close friend to his former Spouse, her new Spouse and Mae became friends with Laura and Gene . Art, Mae and all Family loved Art's Former Mother

in Law Annie Swanson. Their Children were adults when Mae and Art were married .

Mae A. Hendricks married Harold Frank Ward. Nov.2, 1914.

They Married in Mpls, Henn. Co. MN.

FHL Film: 1380463

Anna Mae went by Mae. A. Hendricks by their 1914 marriage date.

Mae's First marriage ended in divorce. It appears their Family

had some very difficult times after Harold's Father William "Willie Grant Ward

passed away in 1924 and when young their Beloved Martella Ward

passed away in 1925. Writer remembers being told by Mae's Son.

my Grandpa Pat Ward that some Members in the Ward family or

Relatives of the Ward had T.B. many years back.

Not known anymore who that was or how many in the family

were affected. Writer does not know what medical issue caused

Martella to pass away so young or what serious illness Byron Ward

had for so long. Former Father in Law Willie Grant Ward's Sister

Jennie Ward Redmond passed away at age 17 yrs old of T.B.

in Wisconsin in 1901, but no information known or remembered

about T.B. with other Family. If accurate, Grandpa Pat Ward was

referring to T.B. affecting their Family Members during his childhood

and when he was growing up. Pat Ward was very knowledgeable

about T.B. including active disease and latent T.B. issues.

Grandchildren remember Grandma Mae having a deep voice and very

bad chronic cough. Not sure if Mae's cough had anything to do with

T.B. or not.

passed away in 1924 and when young their Beloved Martella Ward

passed away in 1925.

T.B. or not.

Leonard Hendricks. Parents Leonard and Mary were married in Belle River MN.

Parents Leonard and Mary Hendricks names confirmed via data about Anna and

and another Grand child. Mae went by her name Anna Mae Hendricks as a child and

later went by Mae A. Hendricks by 1914. (More to this, not to be sited.)

residing with with her Hendricks Family of origin by the
