Ednyas Ann Head married Sanford Kelly Graham on Jan 20, 1853 in Polk, Georgia. Together they had 11 children: James Washington, John L, Stephen Jackson, Mary F, (the twins) Sarah Samantha Kizzar and Sanford Jefferson Uriah, Virginia Catherine, Nancy, Joseph Charles, Aprilcila, and Charlie Matt.
In December of 1885, while working on the farm, Ednyas' husband, Sanford Kelly Graham, got his arms caught in the cotton gin. He lost both between the wrist and elbow. His sons heard his screams and immediately helped him inside where they laid him on the kitchen table. After attempting to get help he and his family learned that the local doctor had loaned the bone saw to another doctor in a nearby town. Realizing his fate, Sanford discussed what needed to be done with the farm and family. He passed away around dawn the following morning.
