Birth: Mar. 5, 1900
Louisiana, USA
Death: Jun. 25, 1997
Louisiana, USA

Alton and Eva Lee Pratt were married December 10, 1928 in Smackover, Union County, Arkansas. They had a boy who died at a very young age and the marriage didn't last long after that. I haven't been able to find out his name, where he was born or buried. Could have been Arkansas, Texas or Louisiana but likely Jackson Parish, Louisiana since the census shows his parents there in 1930. She was from Eros, LA. I would love to learn more information.

Alton and Eula married December 11, 1932 and had two children:

I added "A. L." as his "nickname" because Alton went by A. L. Mills or Alton L. Mills. BUT he did NOT have a middle name or initial. He "borrowed" the "L" from his younger brother Clarence L. Mills because I guess he thought it sounded better. I never thought to ask the full reason, as a child, I thought it was odd that he wasn't given a middle name and didn't think to ask more questions.

Alton is buried in the same cemetery as his younger brother and sister, Amy, 10 years younger had just turned 9 and Victor, 3 years younger was almost 5.

I'm Alton's oldest grandchild, he told me many times about Amy being sick and unconscious and he (their father died in 1914) had left to go get a doctor for her. She woke and sat up and said, "Do you hear them?" and was asked, "Hear what?", Amy replied, "Do you hear the Angels singing?" and then died.

I think it really affected him deeply that Amy died before he could get back with a doctor. I say this because as a small child, I remember him talking about Amy many times and this was 40 years after she died. Also, about 1950, they moved within sight of the church where Amy and Victor were buried, I've been by their graves many many times. I guess that and the story is why Amy and Victor were so real to me.

If I have anything wrong, PLEASE contact me to make a correction. I'm not absolutely positive about Thelma, I'm still searching and hope if I post it here, someone will find and correct me. I DO know Aunt Thelma's last name was Moore.
