Confusion exists as to Lee Dakota Leeman's date and place of death.

*According to a newspaper account, Lee Dakota Leeman was originally buried in San Diego, California, then his remains exhumed and shipped to Deadwood, South Dakota, for reinterment in the family plot in Mount Moriah Cemetery. He had gone to California for his health.
(source: The Times no.2 October 30, 1918, page 6 City: Sundance)

**The CA Death Index 1905-1939 has Lee D. Leeman dying 1918 in Los Angeles; the October 30, 1918 edition of the Sundance Times has him dying 1918, presumably in San Diego.

***Mount Moriah Cemetery records list the date November 4, 1918; perhaps that is the date of Lee Dakota Leeman's actual interment in the cemetery.

****The death date and place used for this memorial was excerpted from the CA Death Index 1905-1939.
