The Paris News, April 6, 1952: "Marion T Fennell, 83, confined to bed for a long time at his home, 702 Clement Road, died there Saturday at 8 a.m. The funeral will be held Monday at 3:30 p.m. in Gene Roden & Sons funeral home. The Rev. Lester Singleton of Ramseur Baptist Church will officiate, and interment will be made in Union Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Turner Baxter, W. L. Miles, Jim Brown, E. H. Thompson, Marvin Varner and A. W. Dotson. Mr. Fennell was born in Tennessee, Jan 3, 1868. Besides his wife, the former Miss Maggie Farmer (mis-spelled should be Palmer), he leaves a stepson, Homer McCoy, Paris: four grandchildren; two brothers and a sister: Sam Fennell, Dayton, Ohio; Will Fennell, Harmon, Tenn., and Mrs. Lucy Fairchilds, Chattonooga, Tenn."
