MRS. MARY CASE IS DEAD
Mrs. Mary Case, who has been an invalid for seven years when a fall in her room put her in a wheelchair for the rest of her life, passed away at her home Monday. The only time she has been out of doors in the seven years is when she was moved from the Saints' Home to the Dancer house across the street when the remaining inmates were taken there for the winter.

Mary Amelia Robinson, daughter of LeRoy and Clarice Robinson, was born at New Buffalo, Marion[sic] county, Mich., November 17, 1846. She was the eldest of 10 children.

At the age of 17, she was married to John Crocker, a Civil War veteran, soon after his return from the service. He died six years later from the effects of wounds received in battle.

In 1872, Mrs. Crocker was married to Walter P. Rood, and to them was born one child, Mrs. Alonzo DeLong, of Lamoni. Mr. and Mrs. Rood moved to Southton, Calif., and there heard the message of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which they both embraced.

At the death of Mr. Rood in 1897, his widow went to Texas to live with their daughter for three years, and in 1900 she came to Iowa.

The first year of her life in Lamoni she was employed in the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Whitehead, after which she secured employment in the Saints' Home, where she met George Case, and they were married in 1903. They lived on a farm near Mondamin, Iowa, for a short time, after which they entered Liberty Home for the aged here as inmates. There Mr. Case died in 1918.

When the other inmates were moved to Saints' Home, when the two homes were consolidated, Mrs. Case went with them and has been a member of this family ever since.

Though Mrs. Case had been an invalid unable to walk for seven years and had suffered intensely as the result of a broken hip, she was only confined to her bed for about 18 days. Her decline was gradual for a period of many weeks.

Funeral services were announced from the Dancer home, today at 2 o'clock.
