Larry Gene Baer, 67 of Cedar Creek Lake, passed away January 3, 2016 in Dallas, He was born February 11, 1948 in Paris, Texas to James and Bertha Baer. He was a school administrator for Rice ISD since 1994. He was a member of Texas Association of Secondary School Principals, Texas Association of Community Schools, Association for Supervision and Curricullim Development, Texas Association School Administrators. He enjoyed sports, coaching, playing and watching, basketball, golf and football. He also enjoyed being outdoors and boating on the lake. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty Baer Burnsed, brother Wayne Baer.
He is survived by his wife Donna Baer of Cedar Creek Lake; daughter, Shelly Harrison and husband Stuart of Scurry; son Derek Baer and wife Cari of Prosper. Grandchildren, Alyssa Harrison, Makenna Harrison, Ellie Baer, Mikko Baer and Rylie Angelone. Brothers and sisters, Wilma Dunn, Max Baer, Thelma Simpkins, Peggy Wishard. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11 am Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel with Gordon Lockett and Jim Revill officiating. Burial will follow at Eubank Cedar Creek Memorial Park in Mabank. Pallbearers will be Jim Revill, Terry Baer, Sam Falls, Lan Rainey, Jim Allen, Michael Greeson.
