William A. Malark, 54, of Burke, died Wednesday, September 26, 2001 at his home.

Born in Constable, May 12, 1947, he was the son of Dennis & Rita Demers Malark. His parents predeceased him.

He attended local schools.

On July 4, 1970 he was married to Carolyn M. Andrews, at St John Bosco Church in Malone. She survives.

From the time that he was a youngster, he worked as a farm hand on several dairy farms in the area. He later worked for Howard Gonyea's Garage in Malone for several years and then for McCann Implements in Malone. For the past 20 years, along with his wife, they owned and operated their own dairy farm in Burke. He was also employed by Franklin County Fair Association for the past 15 years.

He was a member of the Malone Lodge of Moose. He enjoyed hunting and snowmobile and working with his hands doing carpentry, electrical, and plumbing work.

Along with his wife, surviving are three brothers and sisters-in-law, John & Janet Malark of North Burke, Arthur & Nancy Malark of Chateaugay, and Donald & Marge Malark of Westville; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Theresa & Robert Viau of Fort Covington, Barbara & Peter Paul of Wadesville, Indiana, and Sharon Spinner of Vermont; a half brother, Carl Demers Jr. of Chateaugay; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son, William P Malark; two daughters, Christine & Cindy Malark, all on January 14, 1981; and a niece Jessica Malark this year.

Calling hours will be held from 2-4 and 7-9p.m., Sunday, at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., Monday, at St. Patrick's Church in Chateaugay, with the Rev. Gilbert Menard presiding. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
