Daughter of John Adcock and Eliza Spencer who were married on the 10th September 1833 at St. Laurence's Church, Foleshill, Coventry, Warwickshire.


The 1871 Census states that Amelia, 25, was a governess at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Ashford, a farmer, living in the village of Woodbury, near Exmouth, Devon.


The 1881 Census states that Amelia, 35, a jeweller's assistant, was living with her married younger sister, Clara, 28, her husband, Thomas White, 30, a watch manufacturer and jeweller, and their baby daughter, Ethel Clara White, at 3, Victoria Parade, Leicester. By 1891, she was living in Grosvenor Road, Coventry, with her mother, Eliza, and sister, Emma.


The 1911 Census states that Amelia, 65, was living with her sister, Emma, 75, both of them single, at 87, Holyhead Road, Coventry, their younger sister, Clara, 58, a widow, and her daughter, Ethel, 30, also lived with them.


Amelia died at 16, Earlsdon Avenue, Coventry, the home she shared with her sister, Clara, after a short illness, aged 84.
