Sammie (Strain) Armstrong

Sammie Strain Armstrong, 85, of Corsicana, passed away Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001 in Dallas.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Corley Funeral Home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Corley Funeral Chapel with Jimmy Finley officiating. Burial will follow at Frost Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Josh Armstrong, Mike Armstrong, Tony Armstrong, Tom Blackmon, Jabe Herring and Gary Pace.

Mrs. Armstrong was born Feb. 28, 1916 in Frost. She was the wife of Arnold A. Armstrong Sr. and the daughter of the late A. H. and Allie Strain of Frost. She attended Trinity University and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Corsicana.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Arnold A. Armstrong of Corsicana; sons, Strain and Nancy Armstrong of Orange and Arnold and Maria Armstrong Jr. of Houston; daughter and husband, Debra and Tommy Herring of Alvin; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 320 N. 15th Street, Corsicana TX 75110 or to the Frost Cemetery Association C/O Mrs. Fanell Dunagan, Frost TX 76641.
