Bio in progress: Wife of Albert L. Gossett (son of Elijah and Mary Ellen). They were married March 15, 1883 at Belleville, KS. They made their home with Albert's grandfather A. Gossett for two years, then following the death of Albert's younger brother Virgil on Dec. 2, 1884, they moved to a home near the town of White Rock, KS. Alice's and Albert's children were: Olive; Ira (d. Dec. 6, 1957; might be buried in Wauneta, NE.); Laura; Roy (b. Mar. 25, 1888: he spent most of his life in the Army, serving in the cavalry, being stationed in Mo. Texas, S.D., Hawaiian Islands, and Phillipines up to WW1, when he was sent to France for the duration. Upon returning to the U.S., he was stationed at Fort Francis E. Warren, Wyoming. "The last time he was to see us", said, Mary Alice Gossett Pope, "was in the spring of 1925. For some unexplained reason, we never heard from him again."); Carl; Clyde (b. April 7, 1891, he was the happy unconcerned one of the family (this info from Mary Alice Gossett Pope). He liked to play ball and worked in restaurants and be with people. He enlisted in the military in Oct. 1917 and was trained at Camp Funston, KS. He was sent to France, serving with the Medical Officers' Training Corps, Hospital Train No. 24. He returned to the States in the summer of 1919. He went to the West Coast a few years later. He developed diabetes but was able to work most of the time, exept when he would have to go to the hospital to get his diet straightened out. He never married; died Dec. 23, 1956 and was buried in Burbank, CA.; Albert (b. Jan 3, 1893, worked on a farm most of his time, then decided he wanted to be a machinist and worked in utility repair at the University Hospital in Omaha, NE for years, then worked for one of the hotels in the area for a few years, until he retired on his 65th birthday, Jan. 3, 1958. Albert was married to Ida Thayer (b. near Urbana, Champlain County, Illinois) at Ogden, Utah, Sep. 9, 1924. They made Omaha their home and resided at 5612 Francis Street.); Aylette; Mary Alice (b. 6 Mar. 1897 d. 8 Dec. 1987; Agnes Rose.
