The son of Thomas Brandon (1897-1933) and Irene Elsie Bailie (1894-1987).

The father of Nancy, William, Patricia, Julie, and Thomas (their mother: Marilyn Nathalie Irwin).

William served his country during World War II with the Navy from 1945 to 1946.

After his service to his country he returned ad graduated from Yale High School.

He was a fireman for the Flint Fire Department, retiring in that position after 25 years of employment.

William married first Marilyn Nathalie Irwin on 22 April 1950 Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, United States. He married secondly Ellen Lorraine Johnson in 1944 at Emmett (village of), Emmett Township, Saint Clair County, Michigan, United States.

William's obituary reads as follows;

William Patrick Brandon, 82, of Emmett died Thursday morning, June 24, 2010, at Port Huron Hospital, Port Huron. He was born November 13, 1927, in Emmett, the son of the late Thomas and Irene (Bailie) Brandon. William served his country with the United States Navy during WWII from 1945 to 1946 and upon his return graduated from Yale High School. He married his high school sweetheart Marilyn Irwin in 1950 and was widowed in 1993. His marriage to Ellen Johnson was in 1994 in Emmett. They enjoyed spending several winters in the Florida Keys fishing. Bill had retired from the Flint Fire Department after 25 years and served as union president of the Local# 352. He was co-founder of the United Retired Government Employees Local #1. Bill spent his lifetime helping and serving others as a plumber, firefighter, cement finisher, union official, carwash owner and small engine repairman. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, president of its Parish Council and member of the Knights of Columbus. He had served as past post commander and Quarter Master of Emmett V.F.W. Post and on Emmett Village Council. "People far and wide leaned on Bill for comfort and guidance. Bill Brandon was one of a kind."
Surviving in addition to his wife Ellen of 16 years are four children and their spouses, Tom and Patricia of Avon Lake, OH, Nancy and Norm Phelps of Malvern, PA, William and Julie and Patricia Brandon all of Davison and stepson, Pete and Jennifer Johnson of Emmett; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and many friends. His family honors the memory of Bill and invites you to attend Rite of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Emmett, with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Retired Fr. Gagnon will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-Kenockee Cemetery on Brandon Road. Memorials are suggested to the National Parkinson Foundation or American Cancer Society.
