Leon Phillip Burger Jr., 74, of Charleston, died Feb. 1, 2004, at CAMC Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Lou Burger; and parents, Leon Burger and Veda Scott Burger.
He was a lifelong resident of the Kanawha Valley, except for 10 years of service in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Sears Roebuck in 1977 to his home on the West Side. He was a member of the Charleston Baptist Temple.
He is survived by sons, Barry B. Burger of Dunbar and Scott T. Burger of Marmet; and grandsons, Brian and Sean Burger.
There will be no public service and, per his request, his body will be donated to the West Virginia University Medical School.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to the American Heart Association.
