Born the second of five children to Jerub Hamlin Baldwin (1832 Rootstown, Portage County, Ohio - 1878 Cortland, Trumbull County, Ohio; served Civil War; may have actually died in Bedford, Cuyahoga, Ohio) and Aceneth Catherine Aldrich (1842 – 1913).
Siblings: Ida, Horace Owen, Jerub Andrew, Catharine, and Harmon Allen.

Spouse
Mary Estella Dunn, who was born March 1866 Gustavus, Trumbull County, Ohio. Her father was Joseph W Dunn of nearby Johnston, son of Daniel Dunn. Her mother not yet known.

1900 Federal Census Horace, occupation telegraph operator, & Mary living in New Brighton Twp, Beaver County, Pennsylvania with their three children:

A 1902 City Directory in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania lists Horace and Mary Baldwin.

On March 1, 1902 Horace applied for a patent - which was posthumously granted in 1903, for a rail joint for the railroad industry, with wife Mary E. Baldwin listed as administrator.

After Horace's death in
1902, Wife Mary lived with son and later with daughter Mrs. Lillian & spouse Rev. Williams. She died in
Terre Haute, Indiana in 1928 and her body shipped home for burial.

Mary's father, Joseph W Dunn, who died of consumption in 1901 in Cortland, is buried in this cemetery, in a separate lot owned by H.O. Baldwin.

Family contact is sought. This author is Horace Baldwin great great granddaughter (from Basil line).
