JOSHUA MICHAEL LEGGE
ANTHONY JAMES "A.J." LEGGE
Joshua Michael Legge, 3, died Saturday, April 22, 2006, at Children's Hospital in Columbus, just days after his twin brother, Anthony James "A.J." Legge, 3, who died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, in the emergency room at Memorial Hospital of Union County. The identical twin brothers were the sons of Shannon L. and Jennifer Jacobs Legge of Marysville.
They were imaginative youngsters, who faithfully helped with home chores, making their beds, loading and unloading the dishwasher and at times, making more chores around the home, drawing on walls with crayons, markers and pens, constantly spilling drinks and building forts with beds and pillows. They loved superheros and Scooby-Doo.
Although quite talkative, they had their own private language. They were each other's wrestling partners. McDonald's served their favorite food, especially McNuggets and french fries. They also enjoyed vegetables, especially broccoli.
Ornery and sweet at the same time, they danced together to any kind of music, often in front of the television in order to see their reflections. They were happy spending time with their grandparents and at the next-door neighbor's home.
Joshua and A.J. were protective of each other and watched out for each other's best interest. The brotherly bonds in the home were so strong that the twins and their brother often began sleeping at night in their own beds, but would be found in the morning all snoozing close together.
Born March 28, 2003, in Marysville, Josh and A.J. were preceded in death by cousin Justin "Corey" Lamson and maternal great-grandparents Cecil and Charlotte Jacobs and Charles and Virginia Eaton.
They are survived by their parents; a brother, Shannon Jacob; maternal grandparents John C. and Charlene B. Jacobs of Bellefontaine; paternal grandparents Phyllis and Stephen Smith of Bellefontaine, and Steven M. Legge of DeGraff; aunts and uncles, Torey Dauber, Frank (Susan) Lamson and Heather (Perry) Carper, all of Bellefontaine, Lori (Andy) Brewer of East Liberty, Stacey Legge of DeGraff, and Shane Legge of DeGraff; paternal great-grandparents, James R. Lile of West Liberty (A.J.'s namesake), Inez Legge of DeGraff, and Norma (Bill) Heth of Fort Myers, Fla.; and many cousins and other relatives and friends.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Underwood Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. William Zeller officiating. Interment will be at Oakdale Cemetery
