Mary Ann "Molly" Mills was born to Samuel W. Mills (1785-1861) and Hannah VanAusdalin Simonson (1793-1883) on June 24, 1822 in Springfield Gardens, New York. Molly was baptized on June 24, 1822. She married John Amberman on August 12, 1845.

John and Molly had five children: Nicholas, Sarah Maria, John Leonard, Benjamin Clarence, and Elisabeth Ann.

Nicholas was born August 3, 1846 and died August 27, 1846; he was 24 days old and buried in the Springfield Cemetery, Borough of Queens, New York City.

Sarah Maria was born in 1847 and died September 1851; she was four years old and buried in the Springfield Cemetery.

Then John Leonard was born sometime between the years 1850 to 1860; he died on July 19, 1860 and also was buried in the Springfield Cemetery.

Benjamin Clarence, our Dad's grandfather, was born on January 29, 1866 in Jamaica, New York. He married in 1888 Harriet (Hattie) Abrams and they had seven children together. He died on January 29, 1928; he was 63 years old when he was run over by a train while crossing the tracks on foot. He was buried in the Springfield Cemetery.

There was also a fifth child Elisabeth Ann who was born circa October 25, 1865. She and her brother Benjamin Clarence are mentioned in their grandfather's Will. Benjamin was to be given $1,000 when he reached the age of 21 years.

Molly was 73 years old when she died and was buried in the Springfield Gardens Cemetery, Borough of Queens, New York, USA.
