Paul Bevz, 78, of Chittenango passed away Wednesday at Crouse Hospital. Born in Oswego, Paul had been a resident of Chittenango the past 50 years. Paul had been a NYS Trooper for seven years and then was a heavy equipment mechanic for the NYS Thru-way Authority for 22 years, retiring in 1995. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War.

Paul was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Chittenango. He was a life member of the Wm. Cain American Legion Post #1287 in Chittenango and a member of the NYS Retired Troopers Association.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Judith M.; his son, Stephen Bevz of Stanford, CT.; his daughters, Joan Przybylowicz (Steven) of Canastota and Peggy Nunez (Roberto) of Ft. Eustas, VA.; his brother, Andrew Bevz (Betty) of East Syracuse; his grandchildren, Antonetta, Vicente, Olivia, Alejandro; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick's Church, Murray Dr. Chittenango. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Chittenango. Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the G.F. Zimmer Funeral Home, 702 Legion Drive, Chittenango.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Wm. Cain American Legion Post #1287, PO Box 11, Chittenango, NY 13037.
