The most beloved Esther Josephine (Atwood) De La Vega passed on February 4th, 2016 in Simi Valley, CA. Born 9/25/1920 to William and Josephine Atwood of Terryville, CT, youngest of five children and the only girl; a direct descendant of Benjamin Fenn who arrived in America circa 1630. Graduated from the American International College (AIC) in Spingfield, Mass., where she met the love of her life Sotero (Toby) Tovar De La Vega of Zacatecas, Mexico; married on 6/10/1944 and they spent the rest of their lives together until Toby passed 6/15/2009. They traveled and lived from Connecticut to Mexico, Oregon, Central America and Calif., as Toby was a Diplomat for the US. She was a teacher, social worker, entrepreneur and mother to three children: Marian Louise Nelson of CA; Cathy Mae Howell of NH: and Timothy Tovar De La Vega of HI. She always had a song in her heart and loved to make crafts. 8 grandchildren: Damien; Timothy; Lisa; William; Nadine; Richard; Caitlin; and Abundanzia. 7 great grandchildren: Isaac; Owen; Wyatt; Mason; Madeline; Riley; and Kennedy.
