Dwight M. Amos, 75, Kokomo, died peacefully
after a long battle with Parkinson's disease on Wednesday Dec. 24, 2008, at Miller's Merry Manor in Tipton. He was born Feb. 2, 1933, in Kokomo, the son of Randall Amos and Dorthy Jacobs. He married Veda Amos on June 4, 1960, in Kokomo. Dwight retired from Laker Express in 1995. He was a member of the Courtland Avenue Church of Christ. Some of his hobbies included lapidary, fishing, gardening and trips out west to pan for gold in the mountains. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Dwight loved spending time with his granddaughter, taking her on trips, such as to the Indian Trail.
Survivors include his wife, Veda Amos; two daughters, Karla Amos, Fishers, Kelly Amos, Tipton; granddaughter, Tarah Amos, Tipton; aunt, Louise Szalkowski, Chicago; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Keith Amos.
