Francis J. "Fritz" Aufleger, 73, Topeka, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1993, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Aufleger was a driver 23 years for Intra City Transit before he retired in 1982. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of WW II, having served in the 821st Engineering Aviation Division.
He was born Aug. 2, 1920, at Olpe, the son of John B. and Catherine Aufleger.
Mr. Aufleger was a member of the Catholic Church of the Assumption, Philip Billard VFW Post No. 1980, and Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 555, all in Topeka.
He was married to Nadyne R. Andrews July 6, 1950, in Emporia. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Nicodemus, Denver, and Anita Wells, Topeka, a son, John D. Aufleger, Emporia; four sisters: Leona Traffas, Wichita, Vickie Liner, Corpus Christi, Texas and Sally Peet and Dorothy Brown both of Emporia; two brothers, Paul Aufleger, Emporia and Lee Aufleger, Tacoma Wash; five granddaughters, four great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Assumption Church. Mr. Aufleger will be buried in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
