Deana Hawkins, wife of Dan Hawkins, long time resident of Quanah, Texas, left this earth on August 20, 2013. was born the daughter of Bill and Margriet Matlock on August 24, 1947 in Grove Oklahoma. She was loved by many and will truly be missed by her loved ones, friends and family.

Over the years Deana was a member of the First United
Methodist Women, Band Boosters, Quanah Garden Club, Iris Society, Texas Master Gardeners and Girl Scouts. She also painted ceramics and loved pink flamingos.

Deana was active in the Emmaus Community in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was team member on many walks and chrysalis's and lay director of chrysalis flight #24 in Wichita Falls. She often said," I am His and He is mine, but I will gladly give Him to you." Deana always knew she was in the palm of Jesus's hand.

A "Celebration of Life" service was held for Deana at 2:00pm on August 31, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church. There was lots of different shade of pink in the service as many people wore pink to honor her.
