Marie E. Barnett, 63 of Turkey City Road, Salem Twp., Clarion, died at 8:05 A.M. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, in her home following a lengthy battle with cancer. Born July 12 1944, in Romney, WV she was the daughter of the late Herbert A. and Lena F. Daetwyler Oschman. She first was employed for 10 years as a secretary with the Sterling Oil Division of Quaker State Refining Corp. Later she was employed as a bookkeeper by Terry Kahle in Knox. Following that employment she was employed for 27 years with the Farmer's National Bank of Emlenton. She retired from the bank's data entry department in December 2006.Mrs. Barnett was an active member of the Salem Reformed Church of Christ in Lamartine, where she had served on the church consistory, was secretary of the Ladies Aid Society, sang in the church choir, and worked in various capacities throughout her many years of membership. She enjoyed the company of her grandchildren, bird watching, cross stitch, flower gardening, cooking and baking. Mrs. Barnett was married August 30, 1963, in the Salem United Church of Christ to Ronald E. Barnett, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Garrick A. Barnett and wife, Diana of Pittsburgh, a daughter, Ginger McGiffin and husband Bob, of Salem, and three grandchildren, Dalton Barnett, Ethan Barnett and Peyton McGiffin, She also is survived by a brother, Herbert A. Oschman jr. and wife Dianne of Seneca; a number of nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Mrs. Barnett was preceded in death by her father, Herbert A. Oschman, Jan. 31, 1970; her mother, Lena F. Daetwyler Oschman, Sept. 30,1994; And a brother, Raymond E. Oschman,in 1989.
