Ronald Lee Collins of Potlatch, Idaho, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, at St. Joseph's Memorial Hospital in Lewiston, Idaho.
Ron was born Sept. 5, 1946, to Joseph Lyle and MaDonna Collins in Anderson, Ind. He is a 1964 graduate of Rancho High School, North Las Vegas, Nev., and served in the United States Navy before earning a bachelor's degree at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Ron married Linda Grace Collins (Heath) in 1969. He was a sales executive for SC Johnson for 36 years until his retirement in 2003.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, two children, and three granddaughters. He is also survived by his mother, and two brothers. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Collins.
Ron was a family man, a business professional and a beloved friend. He loved deeply and laughed heartily. All who had the privilege to know him will miss Ron's wit and wisdom tremendously. A graveside memorial service for Ruth I. Steele, age 79, will be held Saturday, Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. at the Freeze Cemetery north of Potlatch, Idaho. Pastor Kathy L. Kramer of the Elmore United Methodist Church will officiate at the service. Inurnment will follow the service. Mrs. Steele died Monday afternoon at the Life Care Center of Lewiston from age related causes. Cremation will be held prior to the service.
She was born Feb. 4, 1921, at Antioch, Neb., to Charles and Lillian Hughes Bovine. Her family moved from Nebraska to Oregon in 1935. She attended schools in Nebraska and Springfield, Ore., and graduated from high school in Springfield in 1939.ŚMoscow-Pullman Daily News, Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000
