Maldon A. Lane Jr., 74, Sullivan Gardens, died at approximately 11 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 19, 1987) after an apparent heart attack at his residence.
He had retired from Tennessee Eastman Company in the Tenite division after 35 years of service. He attended Sullivan Gardens Baptist church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maldon A. and Mattie L. Quillen Lane Sr., two sisters and a brother.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bonnie Bowery Lane, Kingsport; two daughters, Mrs Terrill (Linda) Thilelle, Knoxville and Mrs. Bill (Patsy) Potter, Kingsport; one son, Donald W. Lane, Kingsport; nine grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Ella Wilson, Mrs. Elizabeth Barrett, Mrs. Marie Arnold, Mrs. H. R. (Grace) Morelock, Mrs. Jim (Betty) Lay, Mrs. Evelyn New, all of Kingsport; three brothers, Joe H. Lane and Edward M. Lane, both of Kingsport, and Robert G. Lane, Church Hill.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home (downtown).
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Roger E. Hilton officiating.
Burial in East Lawn Memorial Park.
