John Welsh was the son of Robert and Jennett McIntyre Welsh. On Dec 24, 1879, he married Maria Jane Bannister, daughter of William and Mary Church Bannister. On Dec 6, 1893, John married Elizabeth Waldon, daughter of Samuel and Jeanet Crozier Waldon.

The death occurred this morning at his residence, 86 Winnett street, of John Welsh, who had been an invalid for three years. Deceased, who was 72 years of age, was born at Burtch's Corners and had resided in Brantford Township practically all his life. He was a member of the Canadian Order of Foresters, and leaves a wife, four sons and two daughters to mourn his loss, Robert, of Detroit; Samuel, of Flint, Mich; John and James, at home; Mrs. Brooks, Woodbury; Miss Agnes at home, James Welsh of Wilsonville is a brother. The funeral will take place on Thursday at 2 o'clock to Vanessa Cemetery.

The funeral took place yesterday. John Welsh, from his late residence, 86 Winnett street, to Vanessa. Elder Hannah, of Hamilton, officiated and the pallbearers were members of the C. O. F. 132, of Burford. R. E. Miles, W. Crieghton, Darnley, C. French, E. Parnell, W. Rutherford.
