BHS mourning loss of Taylor Bowman

BALLINGER– The Ballinger High School community is mourning today the loss of another one of its members. Wednesday, July 16, 2014, Taylor Bowman, a BHS incoming junior, lost her life in a one-car accident occurring on U.S. Highway 67, near Benoit.
Taylor was a very well-known, outstanding student/athlete, involved in cross country, basketball, cheerleading, softball, track, as well as many other academic activities.
This tragedy shocks the local community only a few days after Brooke Abney, a 1997 BHS graduate of San Angelo and formerly of Rowena, was killed in a wreck on Highway 67, near Miles.
Taylor Bowman was a remarkable athlete. In May of 2014, among many other awards, she was presented with the Ballinger High School Extra Mile Award for four Varsity sports or more.
Thursday morning local businesses were flying Ballinger Bearcat flags in downtown Ballinger in memory of Taylor. Taylor is the Daughter of Cody and Roxan Bowan, of Ballinger.
