Charles Brady came from England or Ireland in 1837, age 15. He met his wife Ellen in New Orleans, where they married and their oldest child Anne Elizabeth was born in 1862. Charles was a machinist and worked for LMS, one of the locomotive machine shops. He was originally buried in Sandy Hill Cemetery, but moved to Cedar Lawn on August 21, 1917. His son Luke, who died the same year, aged 18 in an accident at the Ivanhoe Paper Mills is buried with him.
