Funeral services for Oria Maurice Young Smiley were held at 10 am, Sunday, September 1, 2013 in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel of Oakdale. Committal services followed in the McCormick Cemetery in Lake Cove under the guidance of White Oaks.

Oria, 78, of Glenmora, entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 29, 2013 in the Heritage Manor Nursing Home of Ville Platte. She was born on July 18, 1935 to the union of Warren Young and Nellie Smiley Young. She was Baptist by faith and homemaker. She also was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Bird Smiley; two sons, Arthur Thomas Smiley, and Edmond Dale Thomas Smiley, Sr.; one grandson, Michael Ray Smiley; three brothers, Joe Young, Clay Young, and Raydale Young.

She leaves behind her loving family to cherish her memory three daughters, Arlene Hatfield (Elton) of West Monroe, Karen Clark (Cecil) of Campti, and Evonne King (Glenn) of Glenmora; one brother Thomas Young of Leesville, one sister, Laurice Cox (Clarence) of Cotton Valley; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers to serve will be Kerry Breland, Richard Breland, Derek Chambers, Joe Coker, James Perkins, and Johnathan White.
