John Chanda was my father in law. He was a very loveable man who spent many years as a volunteer for the Brentwood Ambulance.
John was the youngest child of Peter Chanda and Mary Hrinak Chanda. He had two sister's, Helen Chanda Badalucca and Olga (Lee) Chanda Winiarski. He had one brother, Edward Chanda who died very young after being hit and killed by a trolley car in New York City.
John met the love of his life while stationed in New Foundland, Canada during the military. He name was Geraldine Ruth Tulk. The got married and Ruth moved with her newlywed husband to New York.
In the early 1950's they moved to Brentwood, New York to raise their family. John has o e son, Robert Edward Chanda and a daughter, Dianne Audrey Chanda Collins.
John was the proud grandflther of Jennifer Colleen Chanda Scerra, Robert Jason Chanda, Shannon Tracy Chanda Klingman and Alicia Mary Chanda. He also has four great grandchildren, Xavier Esteban Scerra, Hailey Jennifer Scerra, Zoe Isabella Klingman and Gavin Edward Klingman.
