Valura Fae BRYANT, 102, Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Rochester, died at 9:40 p.m. Friday at Banner Hospice, Glendale, Ariz.
Born in Akron to William and Lola KINDIG RICHARDSON, she married Lester BRYANT. He died in 1981.
Mrs. Bryant retired from Sears Bank of Chicago, Ill. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Phoenix, Ariz., and Rochester's First Church of God.
Survivors include three daughters, Louise HERRELL, Phoenix, Ariz., Dolores WHITLOCK, Greensboro, N.C., Bette DAVIS, Algonquin, Ill.; in addition, she raised 4 grandchildren who survive, Larry Bryant WEAVER, Phoenix, AZ; Jean Louise WEAVER (Lurtsema), Anchorage, AK; Mary Whisler Lopez; Glendale, AZ, and Ronald Lester Whisler, of Oregon. She had a total of nine grandchildren including Doug Whitlock, Don Whitlock, Janet Whitlock, Richard Davis, and Carolyn Davis, along with 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren. Preceding in death with her husband were her parents.
Graveside services are at 1 p.m. Monday at Hoover Cemetery, Athens, with Rev. David DITTMAN officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Youth Ministry of Kingdom Online Ministry, 3415 E. Georgia St., Phoenix, AZ, 85018. Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, is in charge of arrangements.
NOTE: Valura Fae Richardson married Lester Bryant on April 6, 1918 in Fulton Co., IN
