Mary E. Beck Story, 90, Paola, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ives Chapel United Methodist Church in Baldwin with the Revs. Rachel Counts-Casson and Harry Sharp officiating. Burial will be in Sutton Cemetery, west of Baldwin.

Mrs. Story died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 1991, at Miami County Hospital in Paola.

She was born June 30, 1901, in Pleasant Garden, N.C., to Quincy Franklin and Luella Frazier Beckerdite. Her family moved to Wellsville when she was 9 years old.

She lived most of her life in the Baldwin area. She was a homemaker and had worked as a residence hall cook at Kansas University for several years. She moved to the Paola area in 1977 to be closer to her family.

Mrs. Story was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ottawa, the Rebekah Lodge No. 267 in Baldwin and the Royal Neighbors of America in Baldwin; a 52-year member of the Lloyd Beaton American Legion Post No. 228 Auxiliary; and a former longtime member of Ives Chapel United Methodist Church in Baldwin.

She married Philo Karl Beck on April 29, 1918, in Harrisonville, Mo. He died on April 11, 1965. She married Charles Story on April 13, 1966, in Arkansas. He died Nov. 24, 1977.

Survivors include two daughters, Elaine Potts and June Florine Sandridge, both of Paola; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
