Born Jan. 10, 1933 in Grady County, he was a son of the late Clyde and Gladys Brinson Barrett. He was married to Carolyn J. Barrett of Cairo on Oct. 3, 1985. He was a realtor, a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict and a member of Pine Level Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn J. Barrett of Cairo; a son, Martin Glenn Barrett of Cairo; daughters, Kathy Barrett Myers of Chico, Calif., Wendy Tia Barrett of Spain; a stepdaughter, Kelly Jarrell Barber of Cairo; a brother, Billy Vann Barrett of Atlanta; grandchildren, Calloway Myers of Chico, Alexis Barber of Cairo and Jacob Barber of Cairo.
