Funeral Services for Wayland Allen, 14, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Allen of Adrian, will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Adrian Baptist Church.

The Rev. Darrell Gaut, Amarillo Baptist minister, will officiate he will be assisted by the Rev. Bill Lewis.

Pallbearers will be Joe Cullender, Bob Caldwell, Moran Pounds, Billy Don Brown, Billy Mack Briggs and Arthur Jewett.

Burial will be in Vega cemetery under direction of Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home.

Surviving, besides the parents are a brother, Bobby Allen, Adrian; a sister, Mrs. Marvalene Wood, Amarillo, and his two grandmothers, Mrs. E.W. Allen of Ballinger and Mrs. F. C. Davis of Winters.

Young Allen was found dead Wednesday morning in a pasture a few miles north of Adrian.
A shotgun with one exploded shell in the chamber was found beside the body. A charge from the gun had entered the left side of the boy's chest.

A verdict of accidental death was returned Thursday by Justice of the Peace E. M. Pancoast, following an autopsy.

Sheriff Day Thompson of Vega said the boy returned home from school Tuesday afternoon, changed into his work clothes, got his shotgun and a .22 caliber rifle and drove away in a truck. When the youth failed to return home in time for supper, a search was instituted. The body was found Wednesday about 10:45 a.m.
