At Torbrook, Jan. 24th, Amelia Brown, beloved wife of Mr. James Brown, aged 69 years, leaving an afflicted husband and seven children with many sorrowing friends. Sister Brown united with the Church of Christ many years ago, and continued to walk in fellowship with God and his people till the Master called her home. Her faith in God was strong. Her remains were taken into the Meeting House at Torbrook, where Rev. W.G. Parker preached an appropriate discourse from the words “Jesus wept.” The body was then interred in Nictaux cemetery. May God verify the promise to the afflicted ones. “My grace shall be sufficient for you.” -- Com. by Rev. W.J. Blakeney.
