Morris Owen "M.O." Campbell, long-time leader in the community and former Superintendent of Aldine I. S. D. died September 11, 2011 following an extended illness. Respected for his, integrity, innovative ideas, exceptional leadership, faith in God, and pride in his family, he was a giant among men.

Morris Owen, son of the late Preston and Fila Campbell, was born March 4,1924 in Roby. He was a graduate of Roby High School. He proudly served his country in the Armed Services during World War II, afterwards returning to Roby where he served as Fisher County Clerk. He married Virginia Justiss on June 9, 1949 in Sweetwater who preceded him death in 2001. After moving his family to Houston, he was with the Aldine Independent School District for 32 years, serving as superintendent from 1973-1986.

At his request, no memorial service is planned. In lieu of flowers or other remembrances, contributions may be made to the Roby Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 304, Roby TX 79543 or the M.O. Campbell Scholarship Fund, Lone Star College Foundation, 5009 Research Forest Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77381.
