Virginia L. Allen, 95, of Tallahassee, passed away February 11, 2017.
The daughter of the late Joseph Thomas and Willie Rhodes Brown, she was born October 8, 1921, in Owensboro, Kentucky. She was a housekeeping supervisor for several hotels and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and watching wrestling.
She is survived by her son, William J. Knowles; grandson, William H. (Jennifer) Knowles; grandchildren, Chandler and Bailey; brother, Bill Brown; and a sister-in-law, Janice Brown. She is preceded in death by a brother, Bill Brown.
The funeral is 10:00 AM, Friday, February 17, 2017, at Abbey Funeral Home, with interment following at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:00 AM, Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
