With her loving family by her side, Pauline Francis Higgins Brookshire, 87, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 28, 2008. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Revonda and Vernon Jones; three grandchildren, Doug and Marsha Jones, Phyllis and David Craig, and Angie and Fred Smith; seven greatgrandchildren, Lexi McMillan and husband, Kevin, Danielle Sutler, Shannon, Allison and Ryan Jones, and Tyler and Jordan Smith; sisters, Peggy Wilson and Wanda Christian; and one brother, Lawrence Higgins. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers, especially Crystal Jones, at Friendship Manor, where she resided for the last five years. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2008, at Oakey's North Chapel. The Rev. Vern Ferguson will officiate. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Saturday August 2, 2008, at Oakey's North Chapel, 542-362-1237.
