Rough Draft:--Theresa was born on November 4, 1864 in St. Louis, Missouri to Herman Neumann and Margaret Espenscheid, (they were both age 33). She was third in the family. Others were John, Mary Celeste, Sophia, Joseph, James and Catherine.

In 1870 the family lived in St. Louis. Herman was a saloon keeper. With wife Margareth, and John, Mary, Theresa, Sophia, Joseph and James.

In 1880 Herman was a peddler and the family lived at 4408 Broadway, St. Louis, Missouri. (There are two 1880 census's, one is for 4408 Bellefontaine Road the other for 4408 Broadway, They must have changed the name of the street to Broadway) John was a surveyor. Catherine was added to the family. This was the family home for many years.

Theresa married Henry William Ellington February 22, 1883 in East St. Louis, St. Clair County, Illinois. By a Justice of the Peace. (he age 25, she age 19) Witnesses were Emma Robbins and Delphia Ellington, his sister. Later they were married again by a Catholic Priest on April 18, 1883. Witnesses were William Ryan and Sophia Neumann, her sister.

They were married for 39 years and had 11 children. Henry W. (died age 16), Joseph Henry, Delphia T., Katherine E., Henry Daniel, Frederick W., William J., Amelia Theresa & Marguerite Josephine (twins), Albert and Ella (died as a baby).

In 1900 Henry & Theresa's family was moved to the River Front, Venice City, Madison County, Illinois. Joseph H. Delphie, Kate, Harry and Freddie who did asphalting. They owned their own home, free and clear.

In 1910 they moved across the river to 635 Athlone, St. Louis. Joseph and Albert were laborers in a cemetery. They again owned their own home, free and clear.

In 1920 they lived at 502 Bulwer, St. Louis. Henry and son Fred were laborer's in a factory, William was a laborer in auto, Amelia was a paper carrier, Marguerette was a shirt maker, Albert was a filler of bottles. Henry's brother Richard was living with them.

Theresa died April 16, 1922, age age 57, living at 2917 N. 9th St., St. Louis, Missouri. She is buried at Friedens Cemetery, Section 3, Single 389. No stone.
